The Uncharted Roads of Marco Polo

● Full Development Arc

For this project, I founded my own studio, Dreamtale Entertainment, with the goal of developing a commercially viable mobile game. I started by building a playable demo and a pitch deck, which I used to secure funding from private investors.

Once funding was secured, I entered full-time development, which lasted approximately one year. I assembled and led a small team of two freelance artists, acting as the central coordinator between the team and the investors. I was responsible for:

  • Scheduling and milestone tracking
  • Budget oversight and investor reporting
  • Creative direction and feedback loops

In addition to management, I contributed directly to production by:

  • Creating background environments
  • Animating character sprites
  • Handling all technical implementation using Unity and Adventure Creator plugin
  • Packaging and deploying builds for Android and iOS

The game blended narrative storytelling with interactive scenes, and was designed for a casual mobile audience. I made all key decisions on scope, art style, and production process, balancing team capabilities with investor expectations.

Ultimately, this project gave me a complete, end-to-end experience of what it takes to ship a title, not just from a creative perspective, but from a production, business, and stakeholder management side as well.
